FAQs
What is the Age Restriction for live events?
- NOW EVENT SPECIFIC – Please read the following information carefully:
AGE RESTRICTION UPDATE – Effective from 3rd November 2025
*** SELECTED SHOWS WILL NOW BE AVAILABLE FOR THOSE OVER THE AGE OF 14, WHEN ACCOMPANIED BY A RESPONSIBLE ADULT ***
RESPONSIBLE ADULT
- We define a responsible adult to be of a considerably older age to the young person. I.e. a parent / older relative. 18 year olds bringing their 17 year old friend for example, would not fit this criteria and entry would be refused.
ID
- If we believe the young person could be under the age of 14, we will ask for physical photo ID. Be mindful that assessing someone’s age can be subjective (not to mention at times difficult!), so ID is advised for all to avoid disappointment. ID may be asked for after admission by our bar, security and management team also.
- We appreciate that there are not many options for them at this age, however they do exist. We recommend the post office online service who do proof of age cards with a pass logo, costing approx £15.
THE LAW
- The adult is ultimately responsible to adhere to the strict alcohol policy. Think 25 will be in place on the bar, and checks will be carried out on each night – no alcoholic drinks should be purchased for anyone under the age of 18. We ask for your cooperation with this as if this policy is breached, we will have no choice to revert back to 18+ for all events. After all, it’s the law and our license that’s at stake.
BUYING TICKETS
- When buying tickets, please check the event details for the age restriction, as they will differ. It is important that a young person’s ticket is booked under the 14-17 year old option, rather than the usual adult / general admission. Every event will be individually risk assessed by us, so young person tickets will be either limited to a certain allocation, or not available if the show is 18+. We ask that you please respect the decisions we make, as it’s in the interest of the safety for you, as well as us.
- Online tickets via our website / FIXR ONLY. To ensure we maintain a good level of control, adults must buy the young person’s ticket on their behalf via our ticket provider. This means you can’t buy tickets in our music shop or on the door at this moment in time.
FUTURE EVENTS
- Some events online may haven’t had their age restriction clarified yet, so assume they are 18+ until they have been updated.
AND FINALLY…
- Lots of information and conditions we know, but they are absolutely necessary if this is going to work. Any further questions, please get in touch with us and we’ll be happy to help.
Can I buy physical tickets at the shop / venue?
- Yes! Please visit our music shop, which is open Monday – Friday 9am-5pm and Saturday 9am-4pm. Both cash and card payments are accepted.
- You must be over the age of 18 to purchase physical tickets.
- Please note that the shop colleagues are selling tickets on the venue’s behalf, and may have to refer your queries to the Real Time Live team.
- We are more than happy to assist where we can but please note that we cannot process payments over the phone.
Can I buy tickets on the door?
- Yes you can, unless an event has sold out. Please check our social media for the latest updates, or our website’s event page.
- You must be over the age of 18 to purchase tickets on the door.
- We accept cash and card payments on the door.
- Just so you know, buying on the door is usually more expensive, so get your ticket in advance wherever possible!
An event I want to go to has sold out, what can I do?
- There is an option to join a waiting list via our ticket shop, which automatically notifies you if any further tickets become available.
- Get in touch with us on the day in case of any last minute cancellations, you never know!
What is the access to the venue like?
- The venue is situated above our music shop, so there are a few stairs to climb. Approx 10 steps in total, equipped with a handrail.
Carers?
- Bring your carer with you, free of charge.
- For advanced ticket holders – get in touch with us via email and once the carer’s ID has been verified, we can email you a guest ticket.
- Purchasing on the door – All that we ask is that your carer brings their ID, such as a carer’s passport.
Will seating be available?
This is unfortunately not a simple answer, as it depends on the event in question:
- For events that are anticipated to have an attendance of 150 or less, tables and chairs will be available.
- For events that are anticipated or are confirmed to exceed 150, we have to remove some or all of the tables and chairs to ease congestion and to adhere to strict fire evacuation regulations. A limited amount of barstools will always be available, regardless of attendance levels.
- Get in touch and we can monitor ticket sales and give you a definite answer as soon as we possibly can.
How else can we help?
- Priority access: Skip the queue and have early access to the venue before the doors open.
- Reserve seating: prebook tables, chairs and bar stools with us (when available).
For anything else, we kindly ask you to get in touch with us and we will make every effort to assist.
We completely appreciate that we have some work to do in this area, and rest assured we are looking into many options to improve our accessibility and inclusivity for the future.
