FRANKIE MILLERS FULLHOUSE was originally formed in late 1975 by Frankie Miller and original Guitarist Ray Minhinnett. Ray pulled into the fledgling band Keyboards man James Hall, and ex Rod Stewart and POCO Bassist Charlie Harrison. Meanwhile, he and Frankie were auditioning Drummers, finally settling on Graham Deakin from John Entwhistle’s Ox.
Ray has constantly continued to work with Frankie since Frankie’s illness – although, obviously not Live – demo-ing songs, helping Frankie with business, and procuring song covers with Frankie’s wife Annette, as well as acting as Frankie’s Musical Director on various recordings and concert projects.
In 2007 Ray reformed FULLHOUSE for the first time to celebrate their 30th anniversary. Enlisting another of Frankie’s Old Guitarists – ex Grease Band and Wings guitarist Henry McCullough – they were asked to headline the Cambridge Rock and Great British Blues Festivals which they did very successfully.
The last two n’ a half years have been spent in the studio with producer David Mackay working on a new Frankie Miller album. A very special album, Double Take, released by Universal on October 7th. 2016 together with a one hour TV documentary narrated by Frankie’s ‘Besti’, the Legendary Billy Connolly. The album is an album of ‘Duets’, featuring Frankie with Elton John, Rod Stewart, Willie Nelson, Joe Walsh, Kid Rock, Paul Carrack, and Francis Rossi, and with FULLHOUSE of course!! To help perpetuate his music, Frankie gave Ray his blessing to take a new Frankie Millers Fullhouse line-up out on the road once again. Ray’s new chosen working partner – Henry’s replacement in the new FULLHOUSE project is Dave ‘Bucket’ Colwell (formerly of Bad Company, Humble Pie & The Jones Gang). The Line-up is already being hailed as a ‘supergroup’ of incredible provenance. As well as Ray n’ Buck on guitars, they have recruited Steve Dickinson who Duets with FRANKIE & FULLHOUSE on the Double Take album on ‘When It’s Rockin’ a stonking Miller Rocker. On Bass is Dave Boyce formerly of The Quireboys, and with Clive Edwards on Drums formerly of Pat Travers, Uli Jon Roth, Wild Horses & UFO – and Danny Peyronel, who was also with UFO, as well as The Heavy Metal Kids, the above ‘Tag’ seems quite appropriate.
